If your air-conditioning unit is in need of a clean, but you are reluctant to foot the bill for a professional then there is no need to worry. There is a very simple plan you can follow to clean your air-conditioner yourself.

How To Clean a Window Air Conditioner?

A standard window air conditioning unit is easily cleaned without having to call in a professional to do it for you – all you will need it a selection of screw drivers, some old rags, a vacuum cleaner, a spray detergent or de-greaser and an old toilet brush or bottle brush and of course a little patience.

- Depending on if you have a disposable or reusable filter, then you either need to purchase a new one, or clean the old one. Cleaning a reusable one is done by cleaning it with the de-greaser in very hot water in which you can soak it for around fifteen minutes – then hang it up to dry while getting onto the rest of the unit.
