Archive for the ‘Stone Brick’ Category
There are various type of Natural stones available in INDIA. Main categories are: GRANITE, MARBLE, TRAVERTINE, SLATE, QUARTZITE, SANDSTONE AND LIMESTONE.
We should choose the stone depending upon the area environment (Look of the area) and its usage.
SLATE STONE: These are the softest stone and can be pealed out with any regular pressure. These are recommended for wall cladding and low activity floors with proper sealing. Slate stones are available in Natural, Tumbled and polished finish, but the beauty of this stone is more visible in only Natural finish. These are available in Tile and small slab size.
QUARTZITE STONE: These are harder then slate, due to quartz particles in it and are mostly used for interior cladding and flooring. Used also for Table tops. Quartzite Stone are available in Natural, Tumbled, Polished and Brushed Antique finish. Natural, polished and Brushed all these types have there different look and pull out the beauty escaped in the depth of stone. Sizes available are Tile and small slab size.
Granite is a stone produced from strong heat. It is one of the hardest types of stone and hence is used as building material. The granite has been used for building bridges, buildings, paving monuments and many exterior projects. It is also used as design material for floors, countertops, or stair treats to name few.
North Granite and South Granite
North Granite is famous for the quality and elegance. Wide collection of granite stone which varies in color and texture is available in the market such as cheema pink, cheema blue, cherry brown, bala flower, china white, copper silk, crystal yellow, French brown, green pearl, Jhansi red, merry gold, rakhi green, raniwara green, rosy pink, royal cream, royal green, seaweed green, sindoori red, and tiger skin to name a few.
One of the most important aspects of Roman villas that make them so endearing is the use of stone. Marble is popular to some extent but another sedimentary rock, Travertine, actually offers more color and texture than can be found with marble. Both these stones are formed by the same carbonic material action but marble usually spends more time underground at a higher pressure and temperature which makes it more dense and harder. This also tends to mute the vibrant colors of the minerals which is why marbles tend to be grey in tone.
Travertine, on the other hand, still will show the extreme hues that can be obtained with the local mineral content of the hot springs where they are formed. These colors range from deep beiges to very bright royal golds. If you are trying to mimic a Roman villa’s look and feel then travertine wall tiles will give you the look you desire.
When undertaking any home renovation or design project with interior stone, you need at least two elements: quality, and variety. When it comes to adding manufactured stone veneer to that interior project, man made rock satisfies both requirements.
Uncompromising Faux Stone Quality
Manufactured stone, also known as faux stone or artificial stone, is engineered from a precisely formulated blend of Portland cement, natural rock aggregates, and carefully selected pigments. At only a fraction of the weight of natural rock, manufactured stone eliminates the need for structural reinforcing, foundations, and footings. Thus, the stone can be installed on any stable interior or exterior wall surface, facing, or elevation, including those where natural rock would be impractical. While some manufacturers of artificial stone cut corners on their components and processes, usually most of them has been careful to select only quality suppliers with a reputation for durable, weather and wear-resistant components. As a result, they’re able to offer an industry-leading 50-year guarantee on every rock they carry.
Veneer is a material that is used in construction for decorative purposes. The material is also referred to as facing and can be found in many different materials. Veneer brick is one of the most popular kinds of this material and has the appearance of brick without the cost of brick.
Facing is a term used to identify the application of a material to a wall surface. This material is often used on both exterior and interior walls. Veneer provides a textured finish and creates a richer appearance than a standard flat painted wall. Both brick and wood are common veneer materials.
There are many different types of hardwood that can be found in veneer. Typically exotic woods have a prohibitive cost for the average homeowner, but these same woods are available in veneer at much more affordable prices. Also popular among veneer finishes are plaster and stone. By using these materials a space can be transformed.
Do’s
* Remove any spill as quickly as possible.
* Have mats in place and better yet a plan to remove shoes upon entry. Customers that remove shoes have a huge advantage in keeping the floor looking great.
* Have a strategy to do weekly or by weekly cleaning. This strategy should include three components: 1- a way to sweep or vacuum 2- a mopping system 3- a cleaning solution that does not require rinsing. For mopping and cleaning, we recommend a micro fiber mop along with a stone grade cleaner.
* IF you vacuum, be sure your vacuum does not scratch the tile surface.
* Have your own floor cleaners and bathroom cleaners on site and do not allow cleaning companies to bring their cleaners into the home. A large percentage of our work is based on cleaning services using acid based products that etch the stone.
eramic bathroom tiles can really be a wonderful way to decorate your bathroom. With the wide variety of different options available in terms of color, shape, and size, you can achieve all sorts of different effects. You can use just a few tiles, or cover a large area with tiles. These do not just need to be used as bathroom floor tiles, they can also be used in other places to get the look that you are aiming for. But remember they are still quite fragile, these are not garage floor tiles for instance.
You can use bathroom glass tiles to form or decorate a freestanding shower enclosure in your bathroom. You can also use bathroom wall tiles to cover the area of the wall around your bath and shower, or to cover the walls from the floor to about halfway up the walls. They make tin bathroom ceiling tiles that you can use to improve the look of the ceiling, and bathroom counter tiles that you can use to make the counter that the sink sits in. As you can see, most surfaces of the bathroom could be covered in tiles, though you wouldn’t really want to cover them all.
