Every lawn deserves the justice to look amazingly beautiful. When the idea of creating an outdoor lawn hits the brain, the first thing to look for is good outdoor lawn furniture. Lawn is a place where a person can rest and relax during summer afternoons. Apt furniture is required to maximize the comfort in your lawn. From teak tables to cedar benches, the variety extends between extremes. Some basic research is required to make an informed decision. Some things should be taken care of to make your lawn look good and stay relaxed.

Selecting the correct lawn furniture is a process to be done with caution. No one really wants to invest money in futile furniture that will get damaged very soon. It is always better to choose a chair or bench that will last longer and look great even after years. Many materials are available that can be used to make the lawn furniture. Several types of wood are available like teak, cedar, pine and even more exotic woods. Many options are indeed there to choose from but the only problem is that most of them require maintain over the years.

Teak is one option that asks for low maintenance. Not just the maintenance, teak is also water resistant because of its natural oils. The grain of the wood is also tight that makes it ideal for outdoor exposures for a long time. It does not just wear out and bulge and does not even split or rot in absurd weather conditions. In fact, teak is known to age beautifully and it leaves a silver tinge after some years. A new look can be preserved by applying a little varnish on the wood. Varnishing work will need to be done every few years but that work is minimal.

Now that a person knows that6 teak can be used n outdoor lawns, the question comes- what type of furniture is being talked about? There are many options for the types of furniture as well. First of all, a person should make sure what he really wants out of his backyard. If a relaxing spot is needed, the work can be done by using a swing. A shady place to escape from the scorching heat of sun is the perfect place to put the swing. However, a lawn for get-togethers and family gatherings requires some different furniture.

A person can obviously visit furniture shops to purchase the items but the range there is limited because of the limited space. A better alternative to this is shopping online. Internet is not limited by space and hence a whole lot of furniture can be seen. You just need to select your likings out of the lot.

Do’s

* Remove any spill as quickly as possible.

* Have mats in place and better yet a plan to remove shoes upon entry. Customers that remove shoes have a huge advantage in keeping the floor looking great.

* Have a strategy to do weekly or by weekly cleaning. This strategy should include three components: 1- a way to sweep or vacuum 2- a mopping system 3- a cleaning solution that does not require rinsing. For mopping and cleaning, we recommend a micro fiber mop along with a stone grade cleaner.

* IF you vacuum, be sure your vacuum does not scratch the tile surface.

* Have your own floor cleaners and bathroom cleaners on site and do not allow cleaning companies to bring their cleaners into the home. A large percentage of our work is based on cleaning services using acid based products that etch the stone.

Avoid these: bathroom cleaners like Tilex, white vinegar, so called “miracle cleaners” that are sold on late night TV, citrus and vegetable juices, soft drinks, some perfumes and cosmetics, toothpaste, mouthwash. These low ph solutions will etch the stone and have to be polished with abrasive diamonds.

* By all means have a plan in place and avoid soliciting opinions of others who may know less than you do about your stone floor. Even installers and sales personnel often lack even basic understanding of the basics of stone care.

Don’ts:

* Mop with just water. This will cause streaking. Find a product that has does not have to be rinsed, but that can be left on to dry.

* Use a stronger dilution ratio than mentioned on any stone cleaners direction. 1-2 ounces maximum is best. If you use more it will cause a film to develop.

* Constantly apply sealers to your stone. Many stone countertop cleaners have a sealer in them and a residue will develop.

“Water marks” and “rings” All calcite based stones (marble, travertine, onyx, limestone) are affected by low ph (acid)liquids. Resulting contact with acid will cause an etch. Glass artist use acids to etch glass. Etchings in stone can be removed, but only by using abrasive powders, polishes or diamond pads attached to an angle grinder or a floor machine.

Some stone are softer than others and are easily scratched. If a scratch is really deep it can require going to a low grit level (say 50 grit for example) and then progressing up through several honing cuts (100,200,400 grit) which can be a time consuming and expensive process. Also avoid rolling heavy furniture like pianos over stone flooring because these items can cause deep marks called stun crystals. They are permanent and cannot be removed with honing.

Grout maintenance is important in any natural stone instillation. The main problem with grouting natural stone is that instillation requires using (wall grade) non sanded grout. If sanded grout were used, the installer would scratch the tile during the instillation process. So non sanded grout is used most often. When non sanded grout is exposed to real life setting it will become soiled and will at some point begin to chip away and develop holes. These holes need to be repaired by regrouting.

Lastly, take some time to evaluate the type of finish your installer or stone professional is going to apply. A great percentage of our restoration work comes from misapplied sealers. We also recommend against use of crystalization applications where steel wool pads are used to heat the floor. Sealers have their place in stone surface maintenance, but it is best to have a small area tested to see what the sealer will look like before application to the entire

Setting up an office at home involves a lot of planning, because there is always the danger of doing injustice to your personal or professional life. If you are planning to set up an office at home, you must do a lot of planning and discussion with the people you share your home with.

An office at home can simply comprise of an office desk with your laptop and a single printer, or it can be a fully equipped office with multi-media and projector screens and lots of buzzing printers, scanners and other office machinery. The following tips will be useful for setting up an office at home:

1. Analyze the pros and cons of the place you choose for office.
You might be lucky to have a lot of options to explore, while planning to set up your office at home. Even if you have limited choice, critically analyze the pros and cons of that place. Think of all the things that you need in your office and whether it will be possible for that place to accommodate your work. If you find the place congested, and yet the only place to set up your office then work on how to make the best out of it.

2. Discuss with everyone at home.
Setting up your office at home is a critical decision that involves each member of the family. It is important to retain the sanctity of your home, and if any member of the family or person you share your home with is unhappy with your decision, try talking to him/her about it.

3. Accessibility.
Check out the accessibility of your office from the main door. If there is none, create one, especially if your work involves having visitors.

4. Facilities that can be provided in that place.
You shall need electrical sockets/switches for your electronic machinery. Perhaps you need broadband and telephone connection as well.

5. Choose appropriate furniture.
Choose appropriate, simple, and inexpensive furniture for your office. The space you have is probably not big enough for huge office furniture and cabinets.

6. Energy conserving location.
There should be a window or door to allow sunlight and air in your office. It is important to conserve energy and utilize solar energy and fresh air, instead of lights and air conditioners.

7. Make a floor plan for your office.
Visualize each and every piece of furniture and your equipment in your office space. This way, you would know what to keep and what to discard.

8. Go for used furniture or bargain sales for office furniture.
Ideally, your home-office should be in-budget. Go for second hand furniture and discount sales to cut down your expenses.

9. Utilize the space on walls for storage.
Since there would not be enough space on the floor, you should go for racks and cabinets for storage purpose.

10. Be organized.
Balancing home and work needs a great level of organizational skills, so be sure to maximize your productivity by staying organized.
